| hey, update. |
[Apr. 25th, 2006|09:17 pm] |
So, I went on a field trip today. 8D (I miss field trips.) My Art I class went to the Torpedo Factory. For those who don't know, it actually USED to manufacture torpedoes, but they retained the name even after the gutted the whole thing and made it into a compilation of artist studios. Great place, if you go to DC I suggest you stop by. ;D
For the record, I am not one who is easily swayed emotionally. I have never really cried during a movie, only once has my stomach been churned by gore (the first 15 minutes of Saving Private Ryan) and I hardly ever get nauseous.
Despite all that, I found the more I was looking at artist galleries and the beautiful paintings and photography, the more sick I felt. I felt drained, I lost my appetite, got a headache and felt like throwing up. Not in a sick sort of way, but in a nervous kind of way. I was almost brought to tears by a painting of a living room for goodness sake. Granted, it was wonderfully portrayed and thought evoking, but come on. I thought that the galleries were amazing, inspiring but I was so emotionally wrung by them I had to sit down with my head in my hands for about once every 30 minutes.
By the end of our 4-hour self-tour I had to nap the hour-long drive back to school in order to get rid of all the symptoms.
D: Weird. Just thought I'd share. |

| | Life is Like a Boat - Rei Fu | ] | So, about a week or so after I created this thing I’m finally getting it of it’s feet. Keep in mind this is mostly a “daily life/sketch” journal. Nothing very interesting, but it’s nice to keep it somewhere.
( Thoughts about irrelevant stuff, LJ-cut for your convenience. )
I do miss everyone, though. Sadly, I dunno who’s who anymore on LJ XP
…and damn, I’m dying for some commissions. *shakes fist and… well… anything*
I also need an LJ layout. <<; |
